HELPDESK
SOFTWARE LICENSES
As a registered charity, the Church of Scotland headquarters
purchases Microsoft software under their Academic Select agreement,
which is one of
the lowest-cost options available.
This arrangement is also available to individual churches
and groups under certain conditions, essentially that the
software is used on machines 'owned' by the Church as a charity.
Your congregation can apply for reduced price software from
Microsoft using the form below. Please note that purchases
made under this scheme are only for the use of software on
PCs located on congregational premises,
including manses, which are used solely
for congregational purposes. It does
not extend to members who use their own PC for the
benefit of their congregation.
The Church of Scotland is a member of of FAST (Federation
Against Software Theft) and is responsible for the correct
licensing of software. It is the responsibility of the congregation
to ensure strict adherence to the licensing agreement which,
unless explicitly stated to the contrary, only permits the
installation of the software onto one PC.
This application form is available in Word [.doc], rich text
[.rtf] and text only [.txt] formats.

Please note that availability of this license does not imply
that the Church of Scotland endorses or promotes Microsoft
products over any others. The Church of Scotland cannot be
held responsible for any problems arising from incorrect installation
of software. If in doubt, please contact a qualified technician.
